2009-10 Asa S. Bushnell Internship Information

The Commissioner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), Rudy Keeling has announced that applications for the 2009-10 Asa S. Bushnell Internship Program are now being accepted.

The Asa S. Bushnell Internship Program was established in honor of the ECAC's first Commissioner, Asa S. Bushnell, who served as ECAC Commissioner from 1938-1970.

The internships are geared toward providing each individual a diverse experience in athletics administration as well as a strong foundation for a career in athletics. The internship period is from Tuesday, September 8, 2009 through Friday, May 28, 2010.

Selected interns will be involved in the administration of various ECAC programs and services to include: championships, communications, ice hockey and rowing, and marketing.

The application deadline is Wednesday, March 25, 2009 and finalists will be interviewed during the week of April 13, 2009.

Building on 70 years of tradition, diversity and service, the ECAC has emerged, in the 21st century, as the nationwide leader in conference services. The ECAC's membership includes 322 Divisions I, II, and III colleges and universities from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.  The conference provides services to the membership, that include: administering nearly 100 championships and events in 37 men's and women's sports; assigning 5,200 officials in 12 sports; coordinating an awards program that recognizes weekly, yearly, and career achievements; the administration of numerous affiliate organizations, conventions, meetings, special events.  The ECAC also serves as the primary conference for selected members in the sports of men's ice hockey, women's ice hockey, and men's lacrosse.
