Currently one of the longest-serving staff members, Michael Letzeisen enters his eighth season at the Eastern College Athletic Conference during the 2011-12 academic year. The only individual to be a two-time Asa S. Bushnell Intern in the history of the nation’s largest, only multi-divisional conference, Michael is the director of sport administration.

In his current role, Michael has chief responsibilities overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ECAC’s five NCAA Division III ice hockey leagues, ECAC Ice Hockey Officiating Bureau and the Eastern Intercollegiate Gymnastics League, a Division I men’s gymnastics affiliate of the ECAC.  In addition, Michael assists the Director of Rowing with management of the ECAC’s three rowing affiliates and two rowing championships.

Michael’s major accomplishments during his tenure include the revamping of www.ECACDIIIHockey.com twice in 2007 and 2010, overseeing the addition of eight new members to the ECAC Division III ice hockey leagues, developing a tryout process for the ice hockey officiating bureau, and drafting successful bids for the ECAC to serve as host of the 2008 and 2011 NCAA Division III New England Baseball Regional on Cape Cod (Harwich, Mass.) and the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Frozen Four in Philadelphia, Pa.

Michael also has vast experience in representing the ECAC outside of the Bushnell Center walls.  He serves on the NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Committee (2008-present), NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey East Regional Advisory Committee (2008-present; including selection as chair in June 2011) and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Sports Advisory Panel (2006-present).  In 2009, Michael was appointed chair of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Sports Advisory Panel. He also completed a three-year term on the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey East Regional Advisory Committee in 2010.  Michael also represents the organization at various league and NCAA meetings and has been the NCAA on-site representative for select Division III men’s and women’s ice hockey tournament games.

In his spare time, Michael assists the Cape Cod Baseball League as the director of social media and has been the co-director of game operations since 2009 for the Cape League All-Star Game at Fenway Park.

Michael graduated from Nichols College in Dudley, Mass., with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, focusing in sport management. He also served as a student-assistant for the sports information office.

A native of North Reading, Mass., Michael makes his home in Osterville.
