Week 2: Navy's Andrew Faulk Named Gymnast of the Week

Gymnast of the Week:

Andrew Faulk-U.S. Naval Academy

Sophomore, San Antonio, Texas

Faulk won the all-around (84.80) at the Navy Open over gymnasts from Springfield, Temple, William & Mary, and SUNY Brockport.  Additionally, he placed 4th on floor exercise, pommel horse, and vault, 3rd on rings, 6th on parallel bars and 2nd on horizontal bar. A Quantitative Economics major, Andrew was also the 2009 ECAC Rookie of the Year.

Rookie of the Week:

Jimmy Pezzino-Springfield College

Freshman, Buffalo, N.Y.

Pezzino captured 1st on floor exercise (14.50) and 2nd on vault (15.55) at the Navy Open as the Springfield Pride (331.60) gave Temple (332.50) some anxious moments in an exciting competition at McDonough Hall in Annapolis.  In only his second competition for the Pride, Pezzino was coming off of a 4th place finish in floor exrcise (14.05) at the 2010 West Point Open.  He is an Art major and received his early training at Stumpf's Gymnastics Center in New York.
