8/17/09 Brown University Wins Turfer Athletic Rowing Trophy for Third Consecutive Year Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Commissioner Rudy Keeling announced today that Brown University has earned the 2009 ECAC Turfer Athletic Rowing Trophy. It is the third consecutive year that the Bears have won the ECAC Turfer Athletic Rowing Trophy. The ECAC Turfer Athletic Rowing Trophy is given annually to the ECAC college or university mens and womens rowing programs that best demonstrate the core values of the ECAC (tradition, diversity, and service), and the values of Turfer Athletic (determination, perseverance, resilience, and commitment). The award is based on the total overall performance of the teams varsity, second varsity, and novice eights at the EARC and EAWRC Sprints, including mens heavyweight and lightweight entries, and womens open weight entries. The Bears will receive the trophy on Tuesday, October 6, at the ECAC Honors Luncheon presented by Jostens. The luncheon will be held at The Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis, Massachusetts during the 2009 ECAC Fall Convention and Trade Show. |
9/4/08 107th Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships to be held in Sacramento CAPE COD, Mass. - Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Commissioner Rudy Keeling in conjunction with the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Board of Stewards announced today that the 107th IRA Championships will be held June 4-6, 2009 on Lake Natoma, in Gold River, Calif. The championships will be hosted by the Sacramento Sports Commission and the Sacramento State Aquatic Center, and will be administered by the Aquatic Center Staff and the ECAC. The University of Wisconsin will look to defend its 2008 crowns in the heavyweight mens eight and lightweight womens eight, while Cornell will try to repeat as champions in the lightweight mens eight. The University of Washington is the defending champion in the Jim Ten Eyck team points championship |

6/5/08 106th IRA National Championships Now Underway The 106th running of the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships will take place June 5-7 at the Cooper River in Camden County, New Jersey. Over 1,300 student-athletes representing 43 institutions will take part in the three day event. |

The Intercollegiate Rowing Associations (IRA) Board of Stewards and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced today that entries are now being accepted for the 106th IRA Regatta. The 106th running of the regatta will be held June 5-7 on the Cooper River in Camden County, NJ. |
