The phone rang twice before the call was answered. The voice on the other end of the line said, Dan Mara. Dan Mara? He answers his own phone? No secretary? No call-screening? You can call the president of the Eastern College Athletic Conference direct? These days, you cant get the president of the PTA on the phone, let alone the man at the top of the largest collegiate sports association on the planet, save the NCAA.

10/2/08 Dan Mara Elected President of ECAC Dan Mara, Commissioner of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, has been elected President of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Mara has been a member of the ECAC Board of Directors since 2005. The selection was made at the ECAC Annual Convention and Trade Show in Albany, N.Y. The announcement was made by ECAC Commissioner Rudy Keeling. 9/23/08 ECAC to Hold Night with the Olympians at Annual Convention In conjunction with its upcoming annual convention and trade show in Albany, N.Y., the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), will be hosting two events honoring Olympians who were former ECAC student-athletes. Already confirmed for the event are Jeff Blatnick (Springfield College), Bill Cleary (Harvard University), John Gregorek (Georgetown University), Michelle Guerette (Harvard University/Radcliffe College), Jason Morris (Syracuse University), Zara Northover (Northeastern University) and Helen Resor (Yale University). Combined, those seven Olympians were selected to 14 Olympic teams and won six medals, including two golds and three silvers. 9/22/08 Eident Sports Marketing Named ECACs Official Sports Marketing Agency Eident Sports Marketing, a full-service agency located in Providence, R.I., has signed on as the official sports marketing company for the Eastern College Athlete Conference (ECAC). 9/15/08 ECAC Announces Four Award of Valor Recipients Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Commissioner Rudy Keeling announced today the four recipients of the ECAC Award of Valor. This years winners are Liz Mancuso (Dartmouth College), Casey Pereira (University of Rhode Island), Conor Reardon (Brown University), and Dave Taraschi (Rutgers-Camden). They will receive their awards on Sunday, September 28, at the ECAC Convention Honors Dinner at the Albany Crowne Plaza. Established in 1985, the ECAC Award of Valor honors ECAC athletes whose courage, motivation, and relentless determination serves as an inspiration to all. The recipients exemplify strength of character, perseverance, and most importantly, accomplishment deserving recognition as being truly triumphant. |
