The 2013 Holiday Festival will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, with Stony Brook University tipping off against La Salle University at 11 a.m. and St. John’s University taking on Fordham University at 1 p.m.
November 29, 2013 Top Moments in ECAC History: Canisius College Wins 1998 Synchronized Swimming Championship The year was 1998. The average price of a gallon of gasoline was $1.07, a first class stamp cost 32 cents and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) administered its first-ever synchronized swimming championship. The field was headlined by Canisius College, the third-place finisher in the previous year’s United States Collegiate Championships, finishing behind only the Ohio State University and Stanford University.
November 22, 2013 Top Moments in ECAC History: 1977 ECAC Division I New England Men's Basketball Championship From 1973-1981, the Eastern College Athletic Conference administered Division I Basketball Championships in the New England, Metro New York-New Jersey and Upstate-Southern regions. These tournaments would effectively determine the NCAA Division I automatic qualifier among the eastern independents for the NCAA Tournament.
November 21, 2013 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament Set to Feature Three ECAC Teams SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The 2013 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament will feature three Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) member institutions, as Fairfield University, Hofstra University and the College of the Holy Cross will take part in the eight-team tournament. The annual NCAA men’s exempt tournament sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) will be Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The remaining teams scheduled to participate in the tournament are Belmont University, University of Hartford, University of Louisville, University of North Carolina and the University of Richmond.
