Tim Ford of Yale Named to ECAC Board of Directors

Cape Cod, Mass. - Commissioner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rudy Keeling announced the appointment of Tim Ford of Yale University to the ECAC Board of Directors. Ford's term will expire in October of 2011 at the annual ECAC Convention and Trade Show.

"Tim will be a great addition to the Board," said Keeling. "He has been an active member of our marketing committee and a regular attendee at our Convention and Trade Show. We look forward to him taking a more active role within the leadership of the ECAC."

Ford is a senior associate athletic director at Yale University and member of the senior management team with oversight of development, the Yale Tomorrow Campaign, alumni affairs/events, the departmental internship program, national youth sports program, and community outreach. He also serves as sport supervisor for the men's lacrosse program, men's and women's squash programs, and men's and women's soccer programs.  He has served in a number of positions at Yale including assistant director for intramurals and Payne Whitney Gymnasium operations, assistant athletic director for marketing and community outreach, director of athletic development, and associate athletic director. Prior to coming to Yale, Ford worked for the Albany-Colonie Yankees as well as the Springfield College and Stanford University athletic departments.  

He is a member of the ECAC Marketing Committee, Ivy League Lacrosse Tournament Marketing Committee, and a past member of the NCAA Division I Football Issues Committee. Ford currently serves as board member for the Farnam Neighborhood House and Squash Haven organizations in New Haven, Conn. He is a graduate of Siena College and received his master's degree in sports management from Springfield College. He is also a graduate of the Sports Management Institute and Executive Management Program that was held at the University of Notre Dame and University of South Carolina in 2005.
