Karen Roberts Named Assistant Commissioner for Finance
Centerville, Mass. - Commissioner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rudy Keeling announced that Karen Roberts has been named assistant commissioner for finance.
"I am very pleased to be able to promote Karen," said Keeling. "Last year under her guidance, the ECAC came in under budget, which was quite an accomplishment during the current economy. Karen is an integral part of the team and has continued to provide outstanding service to our membership."
Roberts joined the ECAC in 2004 as assistant business manager, and had been serving as the director of finance since 2007. Roberts is responsible for coordinating the ECAC budgets and oversight of all day to day financial transactions. She provides fiscal reporting for the ECAC and financial analysis.
In her new role, Roberts will continue to supervise finance, but will take on additional supervisory duties in the areas of business services, internal operations, human resources, and officiating. Roberts will also take over as the senior woman administrator at the ECAC.
Roberts' financial background includes more than 20 years in both profit and non-profit sectors of accounting that are very similar to those she works with daily at the ECAC.
A native of Peekskill, N.Y. and a Cape Cod resident, Roberts is a graduate of Mercy College with a concentration in accounting.
