2011 ECAC Basketball Championships Selection Process Announcement

CENTERVILLE, Mass.--Ben Layton, the Director of Sport Administration at the Eastern College Athletic Conference, has issued the following information for basketball coaches and administrators: 

Hello Coaches and Administrators,

I would like to welcome all of you to the 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference Basketball Championships selection process.  We are looking forward to an exciting winter championship season and this year's basketball championships should prove to provide an extremely competitive field.

Selections for the 2011 ECAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships will take place this Monday, Feb. 28.  Our selection calls will take place throughout the day, and final seeding and brackets will be provided throughout the afternoon and evening on www.ecacsports.com.  Due to the NCAA moving back their Division III tournament announcements this year, it is likely that the ECAC decisions will also be a little later than normal.  It is our goal to have all brackets and host confirmations finalized by 6 p.m.

We ask that you assist us by having a primary contact (coach, administrator, SID) available on Monday afternoon to confirm hosting responsibilities and bracket schedules--all of you have already provided this information on your declaration forms.  This will allow for the quickest turnover of information so that teams can begin making plans for practice and travel.  The NCAA selections will be announced in the afternoon at noon for men and 3 p.m. for women.  The ECAC selections will not be available until after these announcements.
