WORCESTER, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) today announced that the Hanover Insurance Group, a leading provider of property and casualty insurance products nationwide, will be a presenting sponsor of the 67th EARC Rowing Sprint Championships on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester.

The Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) includes many of the sport’s traditional powerhouse teams, including Harvard, Dartmouth, Princeton, Brown, Yale, Cornell, Rutgers, Wisconsin and Boston, as well as Pennsylvania and the United States Naval Academy.

Competitive rowing first came to Lake Quinsigamond in 1857¾five years after The Hanover was founded. In 1952, the lake hosted the National Olympic rowing trials and, over the years, has been the site of many of the sport’s premier events—including the EARC Sprints. Lake Quinsigamond is widely considered to be among the best natural bodies of water for rowing in the world and the City of Worcester often plays host to championship rowing events.
