Officiating Payment Service (OPS)
A record number of schools participated in the ECAC Officiating
Payment Service (OPS) for the 2004-05 year.
The OPS serves as a paying agent on behalf of a school to pay the
game officials (game fees, mileage, tolls and per diem). This
time-saving and cost-efficient service, which was outlined in 2002,
has attracted very positive responses from athletics directors,
business managers and officials.
To utilize this service for the upcoming year, please contact
Steve Rossetti (508/771-5060 ext. 229 or srossetti@ecac.org). Or click here

administrators.
For the 2005 season, 94 lacrosse programs, 85 baseball programs
and 34 softball teams used the Officiating Payment Service.
Institutions still interested in signing up for this fall season
may do so until August 1. In three short years the number of
institutions using the service has grown significantly and now
involves 153 schools including 551 teams.
When launched, the ECAC payment service was the first of its kind
in the United States serving multiple institutions and conferences
from a single source. Now the OPS is part of the ECAC’s
leading Officiating Online System which during the 2005-06 academic
year will be utilized by 14 teams for officiating assignments and
officials ratings.
The ECAC membership includes 324 Divisions I, II, and III colleges
and universities from Maine to North Carolina. The conference
provides services to its constituents that include: administration
of 110 championships and events in 35 men’s and women’s
sports; assigning officials in 15 sports; coordinating awards;
administration of affiliate organizations, conventions, meetings,
marketing, officiating, playing leagues, public relations and
special events.
