Seven ECAC Officials Selected for the NCAA Championships

Cape Cod, Mass. - Interim Commissioner of Officiating Steve Rossetti (Bow, NH) was chosen to officiate the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament semifinal and championship games in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on November 24-25 at Disney's Wide World of Sports venue.

Making his third trip to the Championship game, Rossetti began his administrative tenure with the ECAC in 1991 as the Coordinator of Soccer Officials.  In 2001, he began a full-time position as the Director of Soccer Officiating and last July was promoted to his current role overseeing the 15 officiating bureaus.

Rossetti was an assistant referee during the Ohio Wesleyan versus Wheaton (IL) semifinal game and was the alternate official in the championship game.

"The ECAC congratulates all of the ECAC officials selected for the 2006 NCAA Soccer Championships, states Steve Bamford, Interim Commissioner of the ECAC.  "It's a clear indication as to the high level of esteem and respect with which our officials are held across all regions and divisions of NCAA Championship play. And it is further testimony to the superb job Steve Rossetti and our soccer coordinators have done in the recruitment, training and development of our roster of soccer officials."

ECAC officials Sean Murphy (Londonderry, NH) and Mark Garcia (King of Prussia, Penn.) officiated the NCAA Division II Championship games.  Deb Devine (Castleton, NY), Ann Ross (Marietta, Penn.) and Dino Sorbara (Pennsylvania) were chosen for the NCAA Division III Women's Championship games.  Garcia and Bob Englehardt (State Hill, NY) joined Rossetti on the field at the Division III Men's Championship games.
